Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled 2D CAD Drafter to join our landscaping and hardscaping team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating accurate, professional, and visually clear 2D drawings based on project requirements, site measurements, sketches, and design concepts. You will work closely with our designers, estimators, project managers, and operations team to transform concepts into detailed drawings that support project planning, estimating, client presentations, and installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 2D CAD drawings for residential and commercial landscaping and hardscaping projects.
- Convert hand sketches, site measurements, markups, and design concepts into accurate CAD plans.
- Prepare site plans, layout plans, hardscape plans, planting plans, and construction details.
- Draft layouts for patios, walkways, driveways, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, pools, decks, and other outdoor living features.
- Develop accurate dimensions, elevations, notes, callouts, and material specifications.
- Revise and update drawings based on feedback from the design and project management teams.
- Organize and maintain CAD files, drawing templates, layers, blocks, and project documentation.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and consistent with company standards.
- Assist with quantity takeoffs and measurements when needed.
- Coordinate with estimators and project managers to ensure plans align with project scope and installation requirements.
- Maintain version control and proper file naming conventions.
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience as a 2D CAD Drafter, CAD Technician, or similar role.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting software.
- Experience drafting landscaping, hardscaping, construction, architectural, or civil/site plans is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of dimensions, scales, layers, line weights, and construction drawings.
- Ability to interpret sketches, site plans, photos, measurements, and design concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information.
- Experience with quantity takeoffs is a plus.
- Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
- Reliable computer, stable internet connection, and a professional remote work environment.
