Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and creative Video Editor Virtual Assistant to support a growing video production company. This role is focused on alleviating the current editing workload by delivering high-quality video content across a variety of styles, including cinematic storytelling and high-energy (“hype”) edits. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of translating creative direction into polished final outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

Video Editing & Production

  • Edit raw footage into polished, client-ready videos
  • Align and sequence clips, project flow and storytelling direction
  • Apply color correction and grading to ensure visual consistency
  • Add sound effects, music, and audio enhancements
  • Incorporate graphics, transitions, and motion elements as needed

Creative Execution

  • Adapt editing style based on project requirements (cinematic vs. high-energy content)
  • Understand and execute client vision with minimal direction
  • Ensure videos feel authentic, engaging, and aligned with brand tone

Collaboration & Workflow

  • Work closely with the videographer and internal team to ensure smooth handoffs
  • Incorporate feedback and revisions efficiently
  • Meet agreed turnaround times and deadlines
  • Maintain organized project files and assets

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Video Editor (portfolio required)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Adobe After Effects (or equivalent tools with compatible output)
  • Strong understanding of video editing principles, pacing, and storytelling
  • Experience with color grading and sound design
  • Ability to follow creative direction and adapt to different styles
  • Strong attention to detail and organization

Nice to Have:

  • Experience editing content for agencies or production companies
  • Exposure to multiple content styles (corporate, cinematic, social media, etc.)
  • Basic motion graphics skills

  • High-quality, client-ready video outputs

Schedule:

  • Part-time (20–30 hours per week to start, scalable)
